Susan’s Bio
My paintings are what I feel and see, whether locally or abroad, using a realistic impressionism style.
The countryside scenes are very near my home. There are many streams and lakes locally.
The “Storm” scenes are the result of experiencing fields in Normandy being covered by the storm clouds that had been following our drive from the coast. Pont D’Arch is the name of the town where I experienced the river scenes, “Pont D’Arch” and “Boaters”, during a morning walk. The scene and the lighting were most memorable.
“Tuscany” is the view from a bench in the small town of San Juan Bautista. The overlook of the olive trees and the farmhouse was very relaxing.
Flowers from my garden are what I see and paint.
My paintings have won awards in juried shows.
